Biography
Alex Guillen - San Diego Guitarist for Weddings, Events, and Private Performances
Born and raised in San Diego, California, my journey with music began at the age of 12 when my father taught me my first guitar chords. Growing up in a musically rich household, I was inspired by a wide range of artists, from Bach and Miles Davis to The Beatles and Michael Jackson. This eclectic foundation shaped my passion for blending styles and creating unforgettable musical experiences.
At 16, I immersed myself in Flamenco, studying privately with internationally acclaimed guitarist Diego Corriente. Over the years, I continued to refine my craft by studying with Manuel Valencia from Jerez, a virtuoso of traditional Flamenco guitar, and participating in masterclasses with José Antonio Rodríguez, José del Tomate, and the legendary Chucho Valdés. These experiences honed my skills in Flamenco and Latin music, influencing my ability to deliver authentic and dynamic performances.
